
Department Mission Statement: The Engineering Department serves to expose students to the disciplines and skills necessary to pursue a career in engineering, a field in which women have traditionally been underrepresented. In addition to learning about the many engineering disciplines and exploring college prerequisites for studying engineering, the department gives students an introduction to the types of skills necessary to be successful in a college engineering environment, such as CAD/CAM exposure, and introduction to MatLab programming and the basics of the engineering process through many hands-on projects.
