Faith and Service

Academy’s founders, the Congregation of St. Joseph, is one of growing love, and is an example of a spirituality of integration. Flowing from a deep desire for communion with God and creation, we experience the prayer of Christ happening within us "That all may be one."

Each year, SJA adopts a theme related to the charism of the CSJs, our partners in prayer, and we share this theme with our sister school, St. Joseph’sAcademy in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. "We are One with Creation" the theme for the 2012-13 academic year, as we care for Earth and all living creatures.

Our commitment to the Charism is also made manifest to the students through several class retreat offerings throughout the year. The students are given instruction, guidance and direction in the sharing of their faith as leaders of the many retreat programs provided. Students are expected to attend at least one class-level retreat per year.

As a faith community rooted in the spirit of Saint Joseph, and the teachings of Jesus Christ, we come together in the celebration of the Eucharist in Liturgical gatherings throughout the year. In addition, students are encouraged to attend Mass at 11:00 on Fridays in the Worship Space with the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
