Department Mission Statement: The Saint Joseph Academy Science Department, in support of the Saint Joseph Academy mission, combines scientific study with the values of the Congregation of Saint Joseph to promote scientific knowledge, technological competency, and scientific literacy through hands-on educational opportunities.

  • Has authored several educational and engineering publications and given professional presentations including, "Engineering, It’s a Girl’s Job” (COSI Girls Explore Engineering Keynote Presentation, October, 2007) and "Implementing an Engineering Education Program with Limited Resources.” (National Catholic Education Association National Conference, March, 2008. 

Student Accomplishments:

  • Internships at UNC Wilmington in marine biology, the Cleveland Clinic, NASA Wish Program, and NASA.
  • Student recognized for contribution at the regional First Robotics Competition.
