Saint Joseph Academy recognizes the ever-increasing importance of digital technology in the lives of students and aspires to provide our students with every advantage in the education we offer. After considerable study, discussion, and preparation, we are pleased to announce an exciting new curricular initiative.
Beginning with the 2013-14 academic year, Saint Joseph Academy is implementing a one-to-one (1:1) digital learning initiative, which means one Google Chromebook laptop for every student in the school. This will be known as SJA+.
Every student will be issued a Google Chromebook
to be used in the classroom, as well as at home, for educational purposes. For the past three years, teachers at Saint Joseph Academy have been trained to use various technologies for instruction, assignments, projects, research, and assessment in preparation for this learning initiative.
To help SJA families prepare for this initiative, the Technology Department will host the SJA+ BOOT//:camp to assist parents and students in becoming familiar with their Chromebook and prepare to use it as a learning tool.
Prior to receiving her Chromebook, every student must attend one section of our BOOT://camp.

Our students will be moving into a new era, giving them a unique opportunity in the 21st century digital learning environment. We truly want our students to be able to compete in a global market by utilizing the 1:1 learning initiative. We are working to bring 21st century skills to the forefront as well as engage students in critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication.
