Saint Joseph Academy Will Graduate 151 Young Women on June 3, 2008

WHAT: Annual Walk of the Roses and Commencement Exercises

WHERE: Beginning at Saint Joseph Academy 3430 Rocky River Drive, Cleveland, OH 44111 and processing south on Rocky River Drive to Our Lady of Angels church

WHEN: Walk of the Roses begins at 7pm at Saint JosephAcademy

WHY: The “Walk of the Roses” is a long held tradition at Saint JosephAcademy and in the neighborhood, dating back decades. Each year Saint Joseph Academy Commencement attracts hundreds of relatives, neighbors and friends who gather along the route on Rocky River Drive to Our Lady of Angels church for Commencement. This year, 151 young women will process in the “Walk of the Roses.” processing from Saint JosephAcademy to Our Lady of Angels Church. This year’s commencement speaker will be Dr. M. Sheila Donnelly, a 1966 graduate of the Academy. She is currently an instructor of medicine at Harvard medical School, a Clinical Associate, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute- Gillette Center for Women’s Health, Associate Physician, University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Worcester, MA and Director of Oncology, HeywoodHospital. This year’s Valedictorian is Clare McGrath and Salutatorian and Phi Beta Kappa is Caitlin Messina. Academy Principal, Audrey Menard commented,” We are very proud of our graduates. This year’s class has received over $7.8 million in merit based scholarship from colleges and universities around the country.”

Founded in 1890, Saint Joseph Academy is the premiere Catholic high school for girls in the city of Cleveland.
