SAINT JOSEPH ACADEMY NAMES NEW
ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
CLEVELAND: 063009: Audrey Menard, Principal of Saint Joseph Academy in Cleveland, Ohio announced Ms. Jennie Amodio as the new Athletic Director at Saint Joseph Academy. “In our search for a new athletic director, we were looking for someone to continue to build on our success and take our sports programs to next level. Jennie has the background and experience that will make a positive difference in our programs,” said Menard.
Previous Athletic Director Jill Garlock is remaining at Saint Joseph Academy as a mathematics teacher. Mrs. Garlock was recently named the recipient of the John Peyton Athletic Director of the Year award from the Northeast Ohio Association of Catholic Athletic Administrators, encompassing all Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Cleveland.
Ms. Amodio is a graduate of Ohio University with a BS in Sports Management and Marketing. She has also earned an MA in Education with an emphasis on sports management and coaching from Cleveland State University. Ms. Amodio remarked, “I am very excited about the opportunity to work with the young women at Saint Joseph Academy. The possibilities are limitless!”
During her career, Ms. Amodio has coached softball on the junior high, high school and college level, and was the coach of the Coast-to-Coast All-Stars, a women’s softball team that competed internationally in 2001, 2002, and 2004. In addition to softball, she has additional experience coaching volleyball and basketball. She was also a physical education instructor and facility manager at Case Western Reserve University.
Founded in 1890, Saint Joseph Academy is the premiere Catholic high school for girls in the city of Cleveland. A Saint Joseph Academy educational experience offers young women an awakening to faith, mind and the world while reflecting and celebrating God, each other and all creation. Ninety-five percent of the Class of 2009 are attending college and have received $11.6 Million in merit based scholarships.
