Joseph Academy President Mary Ann Corrigan-Davis
Named
to 2011 Irish Education 100
Cleveland, OH -- The Irish Voice newspaper has named Mary Ann Corrigan-Davis,
President of Saint Joseph Academy (SJA) in Cleveland, to its prestigious Irish
Education 100 list for 2011. The annual list was started in 2009 and honors
leading figures in education across America.
Mrs. Corrigan-Davis will be featured in a special edition of the Irish Voice on December 14, 2011, coinciding with an awards ceremony
being held in New York City.
Mrs. Corrigan-Davis graduated from Phi Beta Kappa from SJA in 1971, and from
John Carroll University Cum Laude in 1975 (an accomplishment that included a
year spent at the Sorbonne in Paris). She earned a Master of Science in Management degree
from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management in
1976.
She completed a distinguished 27-year career at
American Greetings Corporation in 2005.
Starting as a sales representative, Mrs. Corrigan-Davis rose through the
ranks, holding many senior roles, including President of Carlton Cards Retail,
Group Managing Director, Asia-Pacific while living in Melbourne, Australia, and
Senior Vice President of International. In her last five years, she served as
Senior Vice President of Business Innovation.
Mrs. Corrigan-Davis was hired as the first president
of Saint Joseph Academy in 2006 and has brought her intuitive business savvy
and international perspective to the 669-student school, instituting a
management program with strong financial oversight, branding and marketing, and
stakeholder communications.
She currently serves on the Board of Regents for
Saint Ignatius High School and the Fairview Hospital Community Advisory Board.
Her previous board experience includes John Carroll University, The Visiting
Nurse Association Hospice, In Counsel with Women and Saint Joseph Academy.
In addition to this new honor, Mrs. Corrigan-Davis’
accolades include the 1998 Irish America
Business 100, the 2002 Greater Cleveland YWCA Women of Achievement award,
the 2003 Irish American Archives Society "Walks of Life” award, the 2004
"Rainmaker” by Northern Ohio Live magazine,
the 2005 "Good Fellow” Award from the Irish Good Fellowship Club, the 2007
Athena Award recipient from Athena International, the Lifetime Achievement
Award from American Greetings Corporation in 2007, and the 2008 "Simply
Wonderful Women of Accomplishment Award” from the west regional Cleveland
Clinic hospitals. Mrs. Corrigan-Davis is a member of the Leadership Cleveland Class of
2008.
