Saint Joseph Academy Receives $1 Million Gift

From the Howley Family Foundation

Cleveland, OH – Saint Joseph Academy has received one of its most significant gifts in the school’s 122-year history. Thanks to the generosity of the Howley Family Foundation’s one million dollar gift, completion of a major renovation and infrastructure upgrade is becoming a reality.

With this significant gift, Saint Joseph Academy has raised more than $5 million for its $7.8 million Expanding Minds ~ Building Futures ~ Raising Leaders capital campaign. The goal of the campaign is to expand the school’s cafeteria into a multipurpose space and improve the 84-year old building’s infrastructure. The Academy broke ground for the first phase of the project on March 19, 2012.

"We are so grateful to Lorie and Nick Howley for this transformational gift,” said Mary Ann Corrigan-Davis, Saint Joseph Academy President and a graduate of the school. "Their generosity will benefit future generations of young women being educated in the tradition of the Sisters of the Congregation of St. Joseph.”

"One of the primary missions of our foundation is to provide parents with good options for their children’s education,” explained Lorie Howley, Executive Director of the Howley Family Foundation and a Saint Joseph Academy board member. "We support schools that provide both a great education and a strong value system. Nick and I see Saint Joseph Academy as uniquely effective in these areas,” she continued. "The young women of Saint Joseph Academy are the next generation of leaders for our community and the world. We are pleased to make this contribution to support the efforts of Saint Joseph Academy.”
