Sofia Koons '27
Accomplishments: Sofia was the top runner (team MVP) for the Cross Country team in the fall and also the top Freshman finisher in Division 1 at the State Cross Country Meet.
“I am honored to be the top runner this season at SJA and thankful to have such a strong team to push me to be my best,” Sofia shared. “It feels great to perform well as an individual, but even better knowing that you are helping the entire SJA team achieve its goals.”
Sofia has been running cross country since first grade. “My favorite part about being a member of the cross country team is getting to practice and race with my friends and teammates,” Sofia shared.
Sofia is also a speed skater, participating in short track speed skating for the past nine years. Recently, she won first place at the Empire State Games in Lake Placid, New York. “My favorite part about speed skating is traveling all over the country and even the world and making a lot of new friends along the way,” Sofia shared. “A couple of my favorite cities to travel to include Salt Lake City, Utah and Lake Placid, New York. Most recently I got the opportunity to travel to a competition in Hebei, China. I also love the feeling of skating fast!”
Activities and Interests: At Saint Joseph Academy, Sofia is a member of the Cross Country and Track & Field teams.
What is your favorite part about being a member of the Saint Joseph Academy community: “I have enjoyed the education, especially Biology class, and the support of my teachers to help me succeed,” Sofia shared.
