  • The Academy Chorale Auditions Spring 2020

The Academy Chorale is our top extracurricular vocal performing group. Members of chorale enjoy many performance opportunities in a variety of venues. It is a group that requires hard work, dedication, time/material management skills and a current high-level musical ability. The Academy Chorale is also a group of great students that become great friends! The Academy Chorale meets every Friday from 3-5 p.m. during the school year. Sopranos also have sectionals on Mondays 3-3:45 p.m. and Altos have sectionals on Tuesdays 3:00-3:45 pm.
    Audition Days:
    Wednesday, March 4, 3-5:30 p.m.
    Thursday, March 5, 3-5:30 p.m.

Audition Information: To sign up for a 15 minute audition time, either contact Performing Arts Music Chair and Vocal Music teacher Ms. Kathleen Cooper via email or sign up on the Music Room door. Please bring one prepared piece of your choice from the theater, jazz or classical genre (pop music is not acceptable). You will also be asked to prepare parts for The Star Spangled Banner. Upon signing up for your audition time, you will be emailed a folder that contains the sheet music and practice tracks for each voice part. If you learn more than one vocal part you may audition for each one. (Example: You could learn the alto 1 and alto 2 lines and audition for both parts. Perhaps you learn all four parts!)

Call Backs: Call backs will be on Friday, March 6 from 4-5 p.m. The call back list will be emailed to you by Thursday, March 5 before 10 p.m. Students called back will be singing with the remaining members of The Academy Chorale.

Final Results: Final results will be emailed no later than Sunday, March 8, 8 p.m.
*Note: The Star Spangled Banner must be the version provided. Often, you will not have melody. Singing just the melody line of the Star Spangled Banner is not one of the four vocal lines…listen to the tracks and learn the proper parts.

*All voice lines are potentially available this year.
