We are aware of the many sacrifices that families make to send their daughters to Saint Joseph Academy and take great care each year to grant assistance to families in need. Accordingly, approximately 73% of our students receive scholarship awards or tuition assistance. Tuition for the 2020-2021 school year is $15,650. There is a $125 technology fee for all students.

Tuition Assistance
A FACTS Grant & Aid Application must be completed to be eligible for a Saint Joseph Academy Tuition Assistance Award. FACTS, a third party vendor, evaluates all applications and establishes each family’s financial need. Saint Joseph Academy uses this information to determine its tuition assistance awards. Please complete the online FACTS application by November 20, 2020. Do not forget to submit copies of your 2019 federal income tax return and your W-2’s. The application is only available online, and the fee is $35.
The Cleveland Scholarship Program (CSP) and the Educational Choice Scholarship (EdChoice) Program are funded by the State of Ohio and administered through the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) office in Columbus. The CSP is only available to Cleveland residents. EdChoice is available to students assigned to under-performing public schools located throughout Ohio. The ODE Office determines who receives these awards. Applications for new awards will not be available until February 2021. Currently, the award for high school students is limited to $6,000. In most cases, the family is responsible for paying the tuition above this award amount. More information is available on the Ohio Department of Education website.
Students of Saint Joseph Academy may qualify for Diocesan Tuition Assistance (DTA) Grants from the Diocese of Cleveland. The same FACTS form is used to determine DTA grants. Notifications will be announced by the Diocese in May 2021.
Saint Joseph Academy awards a number of scholarships, ranging from $250-$7,500. Many of these scholarships are available through the generosity of our donors. In order to be considered for any scholarship, you must complete the “Saint Joseph Academy Common Scholarship Application – Class of 2025.”

Please note that depending upon the scholarship award, scholarship recipients may be required to participate in various Advancement activities throughout the school year, including the Annual Fund Phone-A-Thon and Endowed Scholarship Luncheon.

FACTS is a third party vendor that accumulates the information provided on the applications and determines a student’s financial need. The individual school, including Saint Joseph Academy, will make an award based upon that need and the financial resources available to the school.
No. Simply add the other schools to your FACTS application form. There will be an opportunity to add additional schools at the beginning of the online process, and also when you enter your daughter's information. FACTS will ensure that information is available to all requested schools.
For current 8th grade girls entering high school, most schools, including Saint Joseph Academy, use the “early form” with a November due date. This allows Saint Joseph Academy to make tuition assistance and scholarships awards to potential incoming freshmen in early January 2021, before your daughter must indicate her first choice high school on the admission application.
Saint Joseph Academy uses the same early form for all of its students, but each school sets its own deadline and requirements. You should follow up with the other schools for their deadlines and to inquire if updated tax returns are required.
Yes. In addition to requesting 2019 tax return information, there is also a question that allows you to indicate any reduction in income and to provide additional information that is necessary in reviewing your family's application. In these circumstances, the Finance Office will revise the student need calculation based upon current family income. Please remember that it is the responsibility of the parents to notify the Academy’s Finance Office of any significant in financial circumstances.
Yes! The State of Ohio recently changed requirements for new applications for the CSP voucher, allowing students entering grades 9-12 to apply. The application period for the 2021-2022 school year will open February 1, 2021. More information is available on the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) website at www.ode.state.oh.us. The ODE website also provides information on the Ohio EdChoice Traditional and Expansion Scholarship Programs.
Possibly. The Ohio Department of Education (ODE) provides a list of Designated Public Schools each year on its website. If your daughter is assigned to one of the listed school buildings and you live in the school district, you can apply for the Ohio EdChoice Traditional Scholarship. The application period for the 2021-2022 school year will open February 1, 2021. More information is available on the ODE website at www.ode.state.oh.us.
Possibly. If you do not live in Cleveland or you do not qualify for the Ohio EdChoice Traditional Scholarship, you may qualify for the Ohio EdChoice Expansion Scholarship. This program is available to families whose income is 200% or less than the federal poverty income levels. The application period for the 2021-2022 school year will open February 1, 2021. More information is available on the ODE website at www.ode.state.oh.us.
Saint Joseph Academy participates in the Diocesan Tuition Assistance Program. The Diocese also uses the FACTS form to determine their awards, which may vary by high school. You only have to complete the form once. These awards are announced in May of each year.
The FACTS application takes into consideration several factors, including income, certain assets, family size and number of children in tuition charging schools, so there is no set minimum or maximum income that can be shared that would apply to all.
Yes! She can also apply for need and merit-based scholarships. Parents are responsible for submitting their application prior to the deadline. Please remember that unlike elementary school, families are responsible for the remaining tuition balance after the voucher is applied.
Saint Joseph Academy offers a sibling discount for sisters attending at the same time. The second daughter receives a $500 discount. The third daughter receives a $2,000 discount.
