Grace Kelley '19 Named Recipient of the Catholic Commission of Cuyahoga County Peace and Justice Awards

Congratulations to Grace Kelley '19 who is a recipient of the 2019 Catholic Commission of Cuyahoga County Peace and Justice Awards.
She will be receiving the Sr. Kathleen Ryan, SND Award. Grace initially filed the "March for Our Lives" rally permit in Public Square and engaged students, including Jane Roche '19, to help her plan the event, which ensured a strong Catholic school presence. She was instrumental in engaging with local government to speak at the event and helped to organize the voter registration drive after the event. Grace has participated in numerous service trips and the annual Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph (CSSJ) Leadership Conference which focuses on teaching leadership and advocacy skills. Grace plans to further develop her service and social justice interests in Miami University's Social Impact and Justice Scholars Program.
Over the years, the Catholic Commission has flourished in its work for peace and justice as an effective voice for those who are voiceless. The Commission's focus is to honor the great work that continues to promote Gospel values and Catholic Social Teaching. We are so proud of Grace!
