The entire Saint Joseph Academy community is looking forward to seeing you on campus very soon!

If you did not attend Registration on Wednesday, March 14 due to a completely unavoidable circumstance, two alternate options are available, listed below.

Option 1
If you don’t have any questions about choosing courses based on the information we have provided you ahead of time, you may complete the Course Selection Worksheet and return it to the Admission Office via mail or by dropping it off at Saint Joseph Academy to the attention of Admission. Please enclose the $360 registration fee and a copy of your daughter’s birth certificate.

Option 2
If you have questions about choosing courses and would like to speak with a counselor, please contact your daughter’s school counselor to schedule an appointment. An alternate date will be available. Please bring the $360 fee and a copy of your daughter’s birth certificate at that time. The school counselors are assigned by student last name – see below for your daughter's assigned counselor.

List of 3 items.

  • Cross Country

If you are a runner, or want to get into running, you should run on the SJA cross country team! All are welcome regardless of ability levels. We only ask that you are a responsible, hard-working teammate.

In high school, the race distance is 3.1 miles. We have 5 different training groups depending on your experience - there is a group for everyone! Everybody travels and competes to all the meets, which are mostly on Saturdays during September and October.

We have an overnight trip to Pennsylvania for a competition, we have a canoe run, a senior night, and many other activities throughout the season. We also help at the Heroe's Run 5 mile race held at Saint Joseph Academy, so you can get service hours as well!

Cross country, like all high school sports, meets every day after school. We practice at the Academy, at Mastick park and Memorial Field in the Rocky River Reservation, and other locations as necessary.

We are used to having more 50 girls on the team, so there's a good chance you already know someone or will meet a friend that could last a lifetime.

Head Coach Fred Kieser has been with the team more than 20 years and has seen more than 400 runners come through the program in that time, with most keeping running in their lives well beyond their high school years.

To join the team simply contact Coach Kieser and show up to summer conditioning ready to get training started. You can contact Coach Kieser via email at fkieser@sja1890.org.

Conditioning begins the last week of June - refer to the team's website for the dates and times of the summer conditioning as well as the meet schedule.

June 25, 2018 is the first conditioning date, from 8-9:30 a.m. at South Mastick Picnic area.
August 6, 2018 is the first official practice, which will be from 8-10 a.m. at the Academy.
