Student Support Services

The Student Support Services Department guides Saint Joseph Academy students who may need extra academic assistance. The goal of the department is to provide information, strategies and study skill development which will lead to student success in the classroom. 
  • Consultation with faculty for strategies and information gathering
  • In-class support from intervention team members in selected classes
  • Review and preparation for state-mandated tests required for graduation
  • Be a resource for parents/guardians and teachers to share academic concerns
  • Provide any initial or three-year multi-factored evaluations students may need
  • Writing of intervention plans for students with learning or other disabilities
  • Summer study skills workshop for incoming 9th Graders
  • Extended time/alternate setting for students who need these accommodations for tests and quizzes
  • Test and quiz make-ups during Activity Blocks
Student Support Services provides additional services that are available to all students. These services include:
  • Peer Tutoring Program during Activity Blocks; tutoring can be walk-in or through referral
    Writing Center for consultation on any part of the writing process, research papers or essays
