We're not just an all-girls school, we're an all kinds of girls school.™
Paola del Rincon Martinez '18
Paola del Rincon Martinez '18 has been teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at the Refugee Response for a year.
"I became involved through the Academy's Junior Professional Shadowing Program. I shadowed the Program Director of Migration and Refugee Services at Catholic Charities Diocese of Cleveland. Because I am an immigrant and now a United States citizen, this experience has further sparked my passion for justice and advocacy," explained Paola.
"One of the biggest lessons that I learned was that everyone has something powerful and important to contribute. I received more than I gave, I saw people that had nothing but still found ways to help each other. It was astonishing that I had something that could make the world better at my young age and experience," voiced Paola.
At Saint Joseph Academy, Paola is a member of Catholic Schools for Peace and Justice (CSPJ), Model United Nations (UN) and is the President of the Spanish Club. Outside of the Academy, she is involved with the Labre Ministry at St. Edward High School and the Teen CO*OP program at the Cleveland Museum of Art.
