Student Receives Honorable Mention at Regional Shakespeare Competition

Claire Kapitan '20 won the Academy's Shakespeare Competition and advanced to compete in the Regional Shakespeare Competition sponsored by the English-Speaking Union of the United States at Westlake High School.
She competed against 50 other students from schools throughout Northeast Ohio. Out of those 50 students, Claire was chosen as a Top Six finalist and received an Honorable Mention.
"As a member of the Shakespeare Club, I had been preparing monologues since the fall, knowing that we would compete with in January. After I won the Academy's competition, I began working one-on-one with Drama Director Ms. Anne Chriszt. My favorite part of the competition was getting up in front of the judges after months of hard work to share what I had accomplished. It was a very rewarding experience that allowed growth in my enjoyment of Shakespeare," shared Claire. Bravo!
