Graduation Activities for the Class of 2020

We are blessed to have such supportive alumnae who reflect generations of young women who have come together to celebrate Saint Joseph Academy's cherished traditions for each graduating class.
We are committed to honoring the Class of 2020 and upholding the dignity of these end of year traditions, while still protecting the health and safety of the entire Academy community.

Faculty and staff recently distributed the Class of 2020’s cap, gown and graduation yard sign in preparation for next week’s in-person commencement ceremony. Click here for photos. The ceremony will take place over three days to ensure we are following the guidelines laid out by the Governor and the State of Ohio Departments of Education and Health. It will be pre-recorded along with the other aspects of the event including scripture readings, commencement speaker President Mary Ann Corrigan-Davis '71, this year's student speaker and our traditional songs. A link to the video will be made available on Tuesday, May 26. Plus, we have secured the Aut-O-Rama Drive-In Theatre in North Ridgeville to screen the video later that night!

The ceremonial Walk of the Roses procession will take place on Tuesday, July 14 or a later date in 2020 to be determined. We will follow guidelines mandated by the Governor and the State of Ohio Departments of Education and Health and hope that larger public gatherings may be allowed later this year. There is no guarantee that conditions will be better in July or even later this year, and it may have to be cancelled. Let’s keep our fingers crossed – and our hands washed!

Tree Night and Baccalaureate Mass ceremonies were recorded, with 10 or less people in attendance. A link to the recording of these ceremonies will be available on Wednesday, May 20.

In order to honor the academic and other achievements of our students, a video recording of our traditional Honors Convocation will be created. This video link will be shared on Friday, May 22.
We are so very proud of the Class of 2020 and grateful for their resilience in these tumultuous times!
