Class of 2022 Welcomed at Upperclass Induction Ceremony

On Thursday, January 14, 170 members of the Class of 2022 were celebrated as they took their place as upperclasswomen at the Academy.
This ceremony is an annual tradition in which each member of the Junior class is formally recognized as an upperclasswoman and those who have purchased a class ring receive it. The Juniors were welcomed by Senior Class President Catherine Hilow '21 who stated "As a class, you have shown how strong, resilient and poised you are and we are proud to welcome you as upperclasswomen."

Students heard a keynote speech from Social Studies teacher Mr. Michael Shannon, who they selected as their honorary speaker. "Over the past year, you've learned so many life lessons. All aspects of your life changed drastically overnight. You were forced to make sacrifices, whether it was academics, the school musical or athletics. However, I believe these lessons you have learned have well-equipped you for the future. When challenges come your way later on in life, you will be able to reflect on this time and confront obstacles that come your way in a responsible way. I encourage you to cherish every moment you have with your classmates at Saint Joseph Academy. Don't take advantage of the little things, participate more in Masses and prayer services, savor the moments you have as a class! Continue taking risks and get outside your comfort zone and appreciate what you have. Take time to thank your family for your education and let them know how much they mean to you. Our nation desperately needs you to be the leaders in the future to make a difference." Click here for more photos from the ceremony. Congratulations, Juniors, on this milestone!
