Saint Joseph Academy Celebrated St. Joseph Week by Supporting the Greater Cleveland Food Bank

During the month of March, the United States celebrates Women’s History Month as well as International Women’s Day on March 8.
Additionally, the week of March 15-19 was set aside as Catholic Sisters’ Week to acknowledge the incredible contributions made by women who are part of religious communities. Our sponsors, the Sisters of the Congregation of St. Joseph, chose to join the celebration by serving the dear neighbor through a challenge to end hunger.

Saint Joseph Academy students, faculty and staff made a donation in honor of the Congregation of St. Joseph to Greater Cleveland Food Bank’s 30th Annual Harvest for Hunger Drive through a collection taken during Celebrate St. Joseph Week, which raised $1,200! A special thanks to CORE Ministry teacher and Distinguished Alumna Cathy Lanning Knittel '67, who planned and executed the drive, which included consciousness-raising of the problem of hunger and how far donations can go in terms of meals offered.
