Vice President of Mission

The Vice President of Mission promotes the values and charism of the Congregation of St. Joseph (CSJ) and integrates them into all aspects of Saint Joseph Academy. The position reports to the President and serves on the Saint Joseph Academy Leadership Team. The Vice President of Mission oversees outreach to the Saint Joseph Academy adult community: employees, parents/families, alumnae and supporters.

  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the history, heritage, mission, values and charism of the CSJ.
  • Bachelor and Master degrees required.
  • Minimum eight years of experience in a leadership position in Catholic education or ministry.
  • Pastoral ministry certification a plus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provide orientation, education and experiences related to CSJ history and heritage, spirit and mission for all employees and board members.
  • Participate in meetings of SJA Leadership and the board members, bringing the lens of the CSJ charism to all planning and decision-making.
  • Provide opportunities for enrichment of the spiritual life to employees, alumnae, parents and board members.
  • Guide CORE (Christian Outreach & Religious Education) Ministry department in providing retreats, liturgies, prayer, service and leadership opportunities that reflect the CSJ charism.
  • Assist employees in educating students to know and live the CSJ charism by integrating the CSJ mission and “Character of a Saint Joseph Academy Graduate” statement in student activities, projects, the curriculum, lesson plans, etc.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the CSJ, especially those members who serve on the mission effectiveness committee of the board of directors.
  • Evaluate SJA’s mission effectiveness on a regular basis, presenting outcomes and recommendations.
  • Provide pastoral support to SJA community members as needed, e.g. illness, death, hardship, etc.
  • Collaborate with other CSJ-sponsored high schools for student leadership and network opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned by the President.
