Care for Creation Retreat Offers Outdoor Reflection and Prayer Before Earth Day

On Thursday, April 20, 13 Juniors and Seniors attended the Spring Care for Creation Retreat at the Jesuit Retreat Center.
The retreat was an opportunity for students to reflect, pray and listen to God’s creation. During the retreat, students explored nature by walking the grounds of the Jesuit Retreat Center and reflecting on what nature teaches us about God. Students also had the opportunity to remunerate about Saint Francis of Assisi's "Canticle of the Creature."

Retreat participant Cara Greenaway ’24 shared this reflection: “It was absolutely amazing. I really got to know my friends. I learned how beautiful the world was. We watched time-lapse videos about flowers blooming when they pop up from the ground. They aren't the prettiest things in the world, but then you show them love and care and they blossom into the most vibrant beautiful colors in the world. It showed me that you should never judge anything by what it looks like on the outside, give it a chance and it will turn into something beautiful. You have to be open to waiting for it.”
