Due to the rainy weather on Tuesday, the annual Pride Bowl tradition changed to a spirited Spelling Bee between the classes. Congratulations to Izabella Conrad '27 on winning the Spelling Bee! A special thank you to STUCO and the STUCO moderators, Mrs. Courtney Coz and Mr. Michael Shannon for organizing Pride Bowl and then quickly changing to the Spelling Bee!
The Class of 2029 was officially welcomed by the Class of 2026 on Friday, September 19 through the annual tradition that creates a bond between the two classes.
On Thursday, September 18, members of the Global Scholars Program traveled to the Cleveland Public Library for the panel "From Neighborhoods to Nations: The Power of Sub-National Diplomacy", hosted by Global Cleveland. Participants heard from panelists about how local diplomacy can help further the goals of global diplomacy.
On Tuesday, Student Leaders from the class-level leadership teams and Student Council participated in a Leadership Retreat at St. Leonard's Youth Retreat Center.
On Wednesday, September 24, the community gathered to witness members of the Class of 2026 being commissioned as Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion.
On September 15, a new Construction Academy in partnership with Regency Construction and AECOM began. Through this program, 21 students will meet monthly to learn about the project and gain real-world insights into the building process.
Last Friday, 10 students from both the Engineering & Design Honors Program and Global Scholars Program visited the Great Lakes Science Center as part of the Ohio Space Week NASA Discovery Days.
The Saint Joseph Academy community gathered on Wednesday in small groups for the “Learn to Love” summer reading program discussions. Over the summer, students were given a choice of 15 books that centered around the theme of "Empathetic Justice", which is one of the outcomes of a "Character of a Saint Joseph Academy Graduate.”

On Tuesday, the Class of 2025 took part in the Academy’s most beloved tradition, “Walk of the Roses.” The class processed down the Academy building steps towards Rocky River Drive walking south to Our Lady of Angels Church for their Commencement.
The Academy’s Chapter of the National Art Honor Society, a national organization that recognizes students for their art scholarship, academics, service and leadership, inducted seven new members this year.

On Wednesday, April 23, the Saint Joseph Academy Athletic Department hosted the annual College Signing Day ceremony celebrating Seniors who will be continuing their athletic career at the collegiate level.
During spring break, 24 students and four chaperones traveled to France for the international experience of a lifetime! The trip was an immersive experience to explore art, architecture and design throughout the country.

On Friday, March 14, the Class of 2025 took their traditional senior class trip to Severance Hall where they enjoyed HAYDN Symphony No. 52. This field trip is one of the students' many cultural experiences that is integral to Saint Joseph Academy's efforts to create a lifelong appreciation of the arts.
On Thursday, March 6, the Academy welcomed female leaders, including many alumnae, from various career paths for the 18th annual Women’s Leadership Symposium.
As a leader in academic excellence for young women in grades 9-12, Saint Joseph Academy is excited to announce the launch of a capital campaign, InspireSJA-Our Campaign for Remarkable Women.
Each school year, the Academy provides students with the opportunity to host international exchange students. In January, the Academy hosted five Peruvian students from Colegio de la Inmaculada, a Jesuit high school in Lima, during a two-week period. Each student was paired with a host student from the Academy.
Last week, during Catholic Schools Week, the community celebrated Catholic Schools Week through reflection, gatherings and expressions of gratitude for one another and the gift of a Catholic high school education.
On Saturday, January 18, 26 students participated in the OMEA District 4 Solo and Ensemble Event, in which students from across Cuyahoga and Lorain counties performed as soloists or members of an ensemble before highly qualified music educator judges. The participants then received a rating and comments from the judges based on their performance. The rating plan includes five categories, the top two of which receive an award certificate.
