Accomplishments: Alexy was one of 40 high school students across the area selected to participate in the Cleveland Media Academy. Alexy was one of two Saint Joseph Academy students selected.
The Cleveland Media Academy is an 8-week program designed to allow students to learn about careers in Media.

At the academy, Alexy learned about journalism, reporting, podcasting and photography. She also had the opportunity to learn from local media professionals. The academy also gave Alexy hands-on experience. “Every week students are guided through writing a news article, recording a podcast episode, or videoing a live news report,” Alexy shared. “The whole program is designed to let our creativity run wild and have adults there to support us along the way.” Each week the students’ writing is published on cleveland.com.

Alexy shared the following, “I wanted to participate in the academy for the opportunity to grow my own skills in writing, journalism and broadcasting as a writer for SJA's school newspaper, Jaguar Beat and also as leader of SJA's Sports Broadcasting Network, Jagwire. The skills of professionalism, public speaking and confidence are invaluable lessons I am also learning from this program that translate into everyday life.”
