Students Selected for 2026-2027 Diocesan Youth Advisory Council
Lyla Patrick ’27 and Olivia Sherman ’27 were selected served on the 2026-2027 Diocesan Youth Advisory Council.
The Diocesan Youth Advisory Council was formed by the Office of Youth Ministry of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland to be the voice of the Young Church to the Bishop, to make the needs of youth known, and to form leaders as missionary disciples to their peers, families and parishes.
“I wanted to become a member because I can help represent the voices of other young people, while also growing in my faith with others who share the same values as me,” Olivia shared. “Being selected for the Diocesan Youth Advisory Council means that I am trusted to represent and serve other young people, grow in faith and leadership, and help make a positive impact on the community.”
Lyla shared the following on her selection to the youth council, “To me, being on the Diocesan Youth Advisory Council means being a voice of the Young Church to the Bishop. On the council, I will work to make the needs of youth known to the Bishop and youth ministers. Being on the council also means becoming a leader as a missionary disciple to my friends, family, and parish. I want to advocate for positive social change through a Christ-like lens and become a strong, loving leader.”
