Accomplishments: Hadley organized a bake sale to raise money for the Free to Smile Organization, which provides surgeries and care to children in third world countries who need cleft lip and/or palate surgery. She partnered with the Jags for Justice Club for the bake sale since the Academy’s Free to Smile Club is not running this year.
“I wanted to plan the bake sale because I had joined the Free to Smile club when it was still a club last year,” Hadley shared. “I participated in the bake sale and loved doing it. I was very sad when the club disbanded but I wanted to keep the fundraising going because I love the cause.”
Hadley baked many of the items for the bake sale and helped with its promotion to the community. The bake sale was a success, raising enough money to almost cover the cost of one surgery. “We managed to raise about $216,” Hadley shared. “And we successfully sold out before Activity Blocks even ended!”
