Mrs. Alison Morgan

How long have you been at the Academy?: This school year will be Mrs. Morgan's 16th year.

 

Why did you want to become a teacher?: "I have always loved school, learning and sharing information," Mrs. Morgan shared. "Since my birthday falls near the beginning of the school year, the back-to-school season has always felt like a personal celebration. Honestly, nothing beats the smell of a new box of crayons or the feeling of opening a brand-new notebook, waiting to be filled with endless possibilities. The greatest joy, though, is observing a student struggle, persevere and finally reach that "aha!" moment. Those are the unforgettable moments."

 

What do you enjoy most about the Academy?: "I most enjoy SJA's mission because it is more than a collection of beautiful words to memorize, hang on a wall or print in a publication," Mrs. Morgan shared. "It is woven into the daily life of the school, the work of our faculty and staff and the hearts of our students. We may not live it perfectly every moment, but we keep trying together. That is what makes this community so special."

 

What is your favorite tradition at the Academy?: Mrs. Morgan shared the following, "One of my favorite traditions is the Farewell Mass/Alumnae Induction Ceremony held in May. It is deeply moving to witness the entire student body come together to celebrate the graduating class through prayer, the Eucharist and shared tradition. Each senior's unique journey becomes a part of the larger SJA alumnae story, reminding them that they will always belong here. This ceremony highlights the entire community's support in preparing them to live lives rooted in unifying love."
