Students Join Sisters for World Day of Prayer for Creation
On Tuesday, students, faculty and staff joined Sisters and staff members from the Congregation of St. Joseph in a prayer service for the World Day of Prayer for Creation.
The 2026 Season of Creation runs from Tuesday, September 1 to Sunday, October 4, 2026. The official theme is “Living Water,” inspired by Ezekiel 47:1–12, focusing on ecological restoration and water stewardship.
During the prayer service, Vice President of Mission Dr. Jessica Wrobleski explained how water from our campus drains into the Lake Erie watershed, which provides drinking water for over 12 million people. "Water highlights how everything is interconnected," she shared, "reminding us of the "ripple effects" of our actions, for good or bad."
Following the service, participants gave each other the sign of peace and students from Mr. Dan Guion's and Dr. Alex Lopez's 12th-grade Theology classes showed the Sisters the Season of Creation posters they made in class.
A special thank you to CSJ Connections Club leader Grace Schmidt '27, and Environmental Club leaders Macy Schillens '27 and Ellie Nottingham '27, as well as to faculty members Science Teacher Mrs. Kristen Barrett and Social Studies Teacher Ms. Ali Conkey for participating in the prayer service.
