Academy Hosts Annual Westside Band Festival
On Saturday, March 16, the Performing Arts Department held an event for band students grades 5-8.
There were nearly 100 students in attendance, representing Lakewood Catholic Academy, St. Angela Merici School, St. Bernadette School, St. Brendan School, St. Michael School, St. Peter School, St. Raphael School and Ruffing Montessori.
Students were separated into two groups and each rehearsed together all day, both in full ensemble, and in sectional rehearsal based on their instrument. At the end of the day, students presented a concert for their families. The SJA Concert Band and the St. Edward High School Jazz Band also performed at the event.
