Two students made Academy history with their high academic performances! Juniors Caroline Favetti and Sarah Karl earned the highest possible composite score, 36, on the ACT® exam. According to ACT®, about one-quarter of 1% of all test takers earn the top score of 36.

On Monday, the Entrepreneurship Club took a field trip to 5 Points Cafe in Cleveland to gain insights into what is like to be an entrepreneur. Students learned about opening and maintaining a business and obtained some great pointers on how to make the Entrepreneurship Club’s Java Joes coffee stand thrive! 5 Points Cafe owner Mr. Conor Boylan even provided students with iced coffee and scones to enjoy while they learned!
On Thursday, May 9, members of Saint Joseph Academy’s Orchestra, Concert Choir, The Academy Chorale, Concert Band and Jazz Band showcased their talents at the Spring Concert. Guests enjoyed the numerous performances from students, including a combined performance from the Concert Choir and The Academy Chorale.
On Wednesday, members of the Class of 2024 continued the tradition of the Senior Parade, traveling from Kamm’s Corners up Rocky River Drive to the Academy. Seniors decorated trucks, cars and even a fire truck for the parade. As the parade entered the Academy, seniors were met with cheers from students, faculty and staff.

Congratulations to Zoë Schmidt '24, who took home the grand prize of a $20,000 scholarship and $5,000 anti-bias education grant for the Academy, and Abaeny Dek '24, who was awarded an honorable mention with a $1,000 cash prize and $500 grant for the Academy in the Maltz Museum’s 2024 Stop the Hate® Youth Speak Out Essay Contest.
Isabelle Ashcraft ’26 was recently selected to be a member of the Diocesan Youth Advisory Council. "I am so excited to have been accepted to the Diocesan Youth Advisory Council," Isabelle shared. "I have been involved in my Parish and youth group for years so being able to take this step into leadership is very important to me."
Saint Joseph Academy is proud to announce 31 students received Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Founded in 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards are “the nation’s longest-running, most prestigious recognition program for creative teens.” Students receive awards based on “originality, skill and emergence of personal voice or vision.”
On Friday, March 8, the 45 students in the Concert Band performed in the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) District 4 Large Group Adjudicated Event.
Seniors Zoë Schmidt and Abaeny Dek were recently named finalists in the Maltz Museum’s 2024 Stop the Hate® Youth Speak Out Essay Contest. Over 4,100 students were part of the contest this year. Zoë and Abaeny are two of the eight finalists for Grade 12.
On Friday, March 1, the Class of 2024 took their annual senior class trip to Severance Hall where they enjoyed Isata Kanneh-Mason’s Cleveland debut in Clara Schumann’s Piano Concerto and The Cleveland Orchestra.

The Saint Joseph Academy community came together in solemn celebration to begin the Lenten season with Mass for Ash Wednesday on February 14. The community was joined by celebrant Fr. Damian Ference, the diocesan Vicar for Evangelization, and several Sisters of the Congregation of St. Joseph to begin this special season of prayer.

On Wednesday, the community gathered for a pep rally to highlight students participating in winter sports. Seniors from the basketball, bowling, gymnastics, indoor track and swimming & diving shared season achievements. The Dance Team and Winter Guard also performed.
