Art Students Recognized; 6 Students Inducted into the NAHS
Last evening, the Visual Arts Department recognized students for awards received in both internal and external art competitions. New members of the National Art Honor Society (NAHS) were also inducted.
Guest speaker, Kaitlin Heneghan '16 shared how the art classes at Saint Joseph Academy helped prepare her for majoring in Graphic Design at Ohio University and ultimately, her career as a Designer.
The following students were inducted into the NAHS:
Ava Allen '22
Reagan Casper '23
Carmela DiLisi '23
Mora Forkapa '22
Kayla Gleason '22
Mack Hammond '22
Mack shared, "Every teacher in this department cares deeply for each student and their artwork. They gladly go out of their way to help their students to be as successful as possible and encourage us to embrace our creativity. The art courses I have taken have helped me grow personally to discover who I am and what impact I can make on the world with my art. Next year when I attend college in Colorado, I will study Environmental Design, which would not have been possible for me if it weren't for all I learned in the SJA Visual Arts Department. I am thankful every day for the opportunities I have been given through this department and will never forget the great memories I made through it as well."
Congratulations to award recipients and inductees!
