On Tuesday, the Saint Joseph Academy community gathered to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.
The event featured an interactive Flamenco performance from Abrepaso, a Cleveland non-profit organization. Abrepaso's mission is to “create new pathways within Flamenco and new entry points into this art form in order to foster resilience, community, creativity, empowerment and most of all remind us all of our shared humanity.” Members of Abrepaso performed several dances and in between each performance, students learned about the meaning behind the songs, instruments used and rhythmic handclaps (palmas).
