Class of 2025 Celebrates Upperclass Induction/Junior Ring Ceremony

The ceremony began with the singing of the Alma Mater, followed by President Mrs. Kathryn Purcell sharing an opening welcome to students and parents/guardians of the Class of 2025.

 

Social Studies Teacher Mr. Nick Roaldi was elected by the class as the teacher speaker. He shared these words with the upperclasswomen: "I’m asking each of you in 2025 – and for that matter all of the other classes too - to go “all in” and unify as a class. I ask this of you because I’ve seen so many times how wonderful it is when a class really comes together over their four years. I’ve been lucky enough to experience this firsthand – one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had at SJA was serving as class moderator for the Class of 2022 with my partner in crime, Mrs. Garlock. It was remarkable to see how awesome it is when a class really gels, accomplishes its goals, makes shared sacrifices, prays together, serves together, mourns together, celebrates together, makes mistakes together, learns together and through it all – forges those lifelong bonds that have defined the SJA experience for 1,000s of women for well over a century now."  

 

Each upperclasswoman received her chosen ring from President Mrs. Kathryn Purcell and then received a single red rose from Principal Mr. Jeff Sutliff. 

 

Mary Tompkins '25 shared this reflection: "To me, the Junior Ring Ceremony holds so much value for the students at Saint Joseph Academy and continues to strengthen the bond of this beloved sisterhood. The whole planning process is extremely exciting and anticipation builds up amongst the class in the weeks leading up to this notable tradition."
