"Walk of the Roses" and 2024 Commencement

On Tuesday, the Class of 2024 took part in one of the Academy’s most beloved traditions, “ Walk of the Roses.”
The class processed down the Academy steps towards Rocky River Drive walking south to Our Lady of Angels Church for their commencement. The Saint Joseph Academy and West Park community gathered to clap and celebrate the class.

Commencement opened with the singing of the Alma Mater and a Welcome Address from Principal Mr. Jeff Sutliff followed by a scripture reading from Valedictorian Maria Tracy '24.

Class moderators Mrs. Theresa Avila-John and Mrs. Kristen Busa who have helped guide the Class of 2024 over their past four years read the names of the graduates as they received their diplomas from President Mrs. Kathryn Purcell and shook hands with Principal Mr. Jeff Sutliff.

Student speaker Sun-Hee Smith ’24 shared, “The great, the difficult, and everything in between, has transformed us into the intelligent, capable, and strong women who will cross this commencement stage today. Our personal journeys at SJA have instilled us with the pride and perseverance that we will take with us to the new great steps in life.”

As is the tradition at the Academy, the evening closed with the graduates singing “The Lord Bless You and Keep You” to each other.
