Accomplishments: Abigail is a leadership team member for Labre Ministry. She also was also named a National Merit Semifinalist and earned the highest possible composite score, 36, on the ACT® Exam.
As one of the leadership team members for Labre Ministry, Abigail works with the other leaders to collect, organize and distribute supplies to unhoused members of the Cleveland community.
Abigail shared the following about how Labre Ministry has impacted her, “Originally, I had no clue what Labre was and had just signed up to go on a run to fulfill my service hour requirements. During the run, I was inspired by the positive impact we had on the lives of those we served, and I decided to join the club as a more permanent member. I've now been on the Labre leadership team for two years, and I couldn't be prouder of the work my team and I put in each month to make a difference in our community.”
When asked about her recent academic honors, Abigail shared the following about being named a National Merit Semifinalist, “It means a lot to me. I’ve dedicated a lot of time over the past few years to my academics, and it’s really rewarding to see it pay off.” When speaking about the faculty members at the Academy, Abigail shared, “I’ve had a lot of great teachers at SJA, so it’s impossible to choose just one! Everyone has been welcoming, supportive, and played an integral role in my academic success.”
Activities and Interests: In addition to Labre Ministry, at Saint Joseph Academy, Abigail is an Academy Ambassador, a member of Academic Jaguars, the Health Science Honors Program and the Writing Center Consultant. Abigail also holds student leadership positions in the Health Professionals Affinity Community (HPAC) and Calliope.
What is your favorite part about being a member of the Saint Joseph Academy community?: Abigail shared the following, “The people. I’ve made some lifelong friends during my time at SJA, and the faculty, staff and students have been so friendly and welcoming all four years!”
Future Career Plans: Abigail is interested in possibly pursuing Chemical Engineering in college.
