What started out as a slow progressing and tight game turned into anything but as the Jaguars took on the Youngstown Ursuline Lady Irish Monday night. Despite injuries to several key players on the team, the Jags were determined to win, putting up a tough fight throughout the entire game. Senior Rachael Kean brought everyone to the edge of their seats as she hit the winning free throw with 0.5 seconds left to give the Jaguars a 49-48 victory.
With twenty seconds left in the game and a score of 48-48 the game looked like it was going to go into overtime. The Jags kept the ball away from the Irish as the clock counted down. In the last ten seconds, the team looked to score, trying to break the tie. Kean grabbed an offensive rebounds and was fouled on the putback to give her two shots at the line. She missed the first but the second went in, letting Kean close out one of her last games as a Jag with a win.
