Auditions are open to all current Saint Joseph Academy students and current 9-12 grade male students at any local high school. You must attend all rounds of auditions to be considered for a role in the show.

Choral
Choral music focuses on music-reading, vocal technique, theory, ear training, history, sight-singing and ensemble choirs to enable students to hone their musical craft and experience the wonder of music. -
Instrumental
Instrumental music challenges students to open their minds while inspiring confidence and creating a community of support. Our experienced faculty is dedicated to teaching students how to thrive and learn through music and performance. -
Theater
Theater fosters student learning and development of God-given talents. Students are challenged to create, express, reflect and push their limits to become well-rounded, lifelong artists. -
Fine Arts
Under the watchful eye of our accomplished faculty, students explore many creative avenues, learn the newest design programs and design three-dimensionally with hands-on projects. -
Digital Arts
Our students don't just appreciate art; they create it. We give our students the freedom to explore their own artistic visions through our Howley Makerspace innovation lab, digital media and production labs and our 3-D virtual reality environment. -
Photography
Students explore how digital photography impacts visual literacy and how to learn the art of visual storytelling through photos.

Spring Play
A Murder is Announced by Agatha Christie begins with a bizarre newspaper ad in the quiet village of Chipping Cleghorn, announcing a murder at local resident Miss Blacklock's home, Little Paddocks, at a specific time. Curious villagers gather, expecting a game, but lights go out, and shots are fired, leaving a masked intruder dead, not Miss Blacklock, who is only slightly injured. As amateur sleuth Miss Marple investigates with Inspector Craddock, they uncover a web of hidden identities, past secrets, a large inheritance, and additional murders, all pointing to a complex plot to secure wealth by eliminating rivals, a scheme Masterfully unraveled by Miss Marple.

West Side Band Festival
Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Saint Joseph Academy
Check-in at 9 a.m.
Performance begins at 2:30 p.m.
Students in grades 5-8 will spend the day making music alongside fellow band members, rehearsing in large and small group settings with students from a variety of area schools.
This fun and enriching experience connects your student with area musicians and the welcoming music community of Greater Cleveland. A pizza lunch will be provided, and the day will conclude with a final performance featuring two festival ensembles.
This is a free event; however, registration is required.

STArts
STArts is a volunteer-driven group comprised of parents, guardians, alumnae, and friends committed to supporting the artistic talents of Saint Joseph Academy students. We help the SJA Performing Arts Programs, Concert and Jazz Bands, String Orchestra, Winterguard, Dance Team, The Academy Chorale and Choir. STArts does this through fundraising and volunteer service at events. We're the helpers that might prepare or provide meals to students the night before a tech rehearsal, sell popcorn in the concession stand at intermission, or raise funds to buy fabrics for costumes. The money we raise from dues and our other activities provides crucial funds to help elevate the arts at SJA.
