Last Wednesday, Sophomores Grace Soeder and Lucy Toghill joined Sister Pat McHale, CSJ in gardening.
Both Grace and Lucy thought this opportunity would be a fun experience to learn more about the Sisters of the Congregation of St. Joseph, and a bit about gardening.
“We helped her plant yellow and purple daffodils to represent our school colors, and then we also helped weed planter beds,” Grace shared. “Sister Pat taught us about how the weeds in the garden were an invasive species that surrounds themselves around anything that grows.”
“I would love to do this more often as it gave us the opportunity to learn about the history of our school, and her experience at Saint Joseph Academy,” Lucy shared. “She was so much fun to be with and made us feel so welcomed!”
A special thank you to CORE Ministry member Mrs. Alison Morgan for creating this unique opportunity for students.
