Accomplishments: Katherine was one of five students who hosted one of the Academy’s Peruvian exchange students for two weeks in January.
“I chose to host because I wanted the opportunity to learn about different cultures, make new friends and form a connection that could last a lifetime," Katherine shared.
Katherine’s exchange sister was Fernanda. During Fernanda’s time in Cleveland, they attended a Cleveland Cavaliers basketball game, went to many restaurants, made a Peruvian dish together and went ice skating.
Katherine shared the following reflection on her hosting experience: “My favorite part of being a host student was simply making a new friend. It was so fun having someone to keep me company for two weeks, and I enjoyed learning more and more about each other as the days went by.”
Activities and Interests: At Saint Joseph Academy, Katherine is an Academy Ambassador, a member of the Health Sciences Honors Program, the Mental Health Club and the Lacrosse team.
What is your favorite part about being a member of the Saint Joseph Academy community?: Katherine shared the following: “My favorite part about being a member of the SJA community is the people. All the teachers, friends, and everyone in the halls are very supportive, and they help you feel like you truly belong.”
Future Career Interests: Katherine is interested in pursuing a career in the field of Biology.
