Accomplishments: Danielle is President of Student Council (STUCO) at the Academy.
As a member of STUCO, Danielle helps organize school events to help build a sense of community among all grades and raise school spirit through pep rallies, the fall dance, Catholic Schools Week activities and Paws for Pride. “The role of student leadership is primarily to get our peers to participate and feel like they belong,” Danielle shared.
One of the ways Danielle and STUCO create a sense of belonging for all students is through creating dress down themes around class colors. Seniors wear blue, Juniors wear red, Sophomores wear yellow and Freshmen wear green. “I get to make slideshows of outfit inspiration for each theme,” Danielle shared. “I think it’s exciting to come up with fun ways to incorporate colors into the themes, but I also think it’s important to give some ideas so we can get as many people involved as possible to build and strengthen our community.”
Activities and Interests: In addition to STUCO at Saint Joseph Academy, Danielle is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), National Honor Society (NHS) and the Swim team.
What is your favorite part about being a member of the Saint Joseph Academy community?: Danielle shared the following: “My favorite part about being a member of the SJA community is the close knit connection we’re able to make with each other. We are given so many opportunities to connect with our peers in all grades through service, wellness, and our wide variety of clubs, and we foster such a strong sense of love and compassion. I’ve always admired how everyone is able to find a group that they belong in at SJA despite our smaller size compared to other schools. Our school does a great job of giving us spaces to recognize that we all have something in common with at least one person around us, and no one is meant to feel alone here.”
Future Career Interests: Danielle will be attending The Ohio State University in the fall and majoring in Materials Science & Engineering.
