Dr. Jonathan Setliff

Department: Social Studies. Dr. Setliff teaches AP® Comparative Government and Politics, US Government and US History.
"I really like teaching the AP® Comparative Government and Politics class," Dr. Setliff shared. "It's great to give the girls exposure to other countries political systems and cultures."
 
Additionally, Dr. Setliff is the moderator of the Key Club. Key Club helps organize service opportunities with the West Park Kiwanis Club and the Red Cross blood drives at the Academy. 
 
How long have you been teaching at the Academy? This school year will be Dr. Setliff’s 19th year. 
 
Why did you want to become a teacher? “My grandfather was a teacher, and I always admired him,” Dr. Setliff shared. “Also, I met my late wife in graduate school and had to adjust my career expectations; turns out this job suits me.”
 
What do you enjoy most about the Academy? Dr. Setliff shared, “I really enjoy seeing the kids each day and watching them grow and mature over time.”
