Community Celebrates Class of 2026 Academic Achievements at Honors Convocation
On Tuesday, the community, as well as parents/guardians of the graduating Seniors, gathered in the Academy Center for the annual Honors Convocation to celebrate the many achievements of the Class of 2026 and their influence on the Classes of 2029, 2028 and 2027.
The program began with the singing of the Alma Mater, followed by a prayer led by Vice President of Mission Dr. Jessica Wrobleski. Next, President Mrs. Kathryn Purcell provided opening remarks about the Senior class. “This convocation is a celebration of every member of the Class of 2026,” President Purcell shared. After her speech, representatives from the Classes of 2029, 2028, and 2027 shared their thoughts on the graduating class and discussed the positive impact of the class.

Two faculty members were also recognized for the 2025-2026 school year: CORE Ministry Member Mr. Joseph Basalla, receiving the Sister Edith Franz, CSJ Award and Instructional Librarian and Nazareth Library Department Chair Mrs. Rebecca Synk, receiving the Sursum Corda Award. The community also honored Principal Mr. Jeff Sutliff for his 13 years of service to the Academy, as he will be leaving at the end of the school year. The Academy Chorale closed the program by singing a song dedicated to the Class of 2026.
