Emily Johnson '27

Accomplishments: Emily was selected to attend the 2026 Buckeye Student Leadership Academy at The Ohio State University. 
“I am extremely excited to have been selected for the Buckeye Student Leadership Academy,” Emily shared. “The application process was challenging, and I was competing against strong candidates, so I am proud that my hard work has paid off. I am especially grateful for this opportunity because I am seriously considering The Ohio State University, and I believe this experience will help me grow as a leader and better prepare me for my future academic goals.”
 
As part of the program, Emily will continue developing leadership skills, build community with other students, learn about what to expect in college and strategies for success in college. Emily will also learn more about The Ohio State University’s admissions progress. 
 
“I wanted to apply for the leadership program because I am interested in strengthening my leadership skills and becoming more confident in taking initiative in different settings,” Emily shared. “I also saw it as a great opportunity to explore The Ohio State University more in depth, meet students with similar interests, and better prepare for college.”
 
Emily was also one of the 68 students recently inducted into the Academy’s National Honor Society chapter. “To me, becoming a member of the National Honor Society means having the opportunity to represent my school in a positive way while upholding its values,” Emily shared. “I am also excited to be surrounded by peers who share similar goals and who motivate one another to continue growing academically and personally.”

Activities and Interests: In addition to National Honor Society, at Saint Joseph Academy, Emily is a member of the Key Club and Spanish Club, a leadership team member for the Health Sciences Honors Program, a captain of the Varsity Softball team, a mentor in the Chick-fil-A Leadership Academy and the club leader for the Ultimate Fan Club. 
 
What is your favorite part about being a member of the Saint Joseph Academy community?: Emily shared the following, “My favorite part of being a member of the Saint Joseph Academy community is the strong sense of sisterhood and the meaningful bonds I have formed with my peers. I also value the academic opportunities the school provides, including challenging coursework such as AP classes, which have helped me grow academically and prepare for the future.”
 
Future Career Plans: Emily is interested in pursuing a career in healthcare with the goal of becoming a Dermatologist.
