Mary Tompkins '25
Accomplishments: Mary is an Academy Ambassador and has been a member of the Academy Ambassador’s Executive Board for the past three years.
Mary began serving as an Academy Ambassador during her first semester at the Academy. Based on her positive attitude and Jaguar spirit, Mary was asked to join the Executive Board in the spring of her freshman year.
“To me, being an Academy Ambassador isn't just about being the face of the school or someone willing to give tours to future Jaguars,” Mary shared. “Personally, I believe it is an opportunity to establish meaningful connections and to create a positive influence on how someone perceives this school. I always strive to do my best to help future Jaguars see how they can truly live up to their potential, while also sharing my authentic experience.”
Activities and Interests: At Saint Joseph Academy, Mary started JagWire, the Academy’s sports broadcasting network. In addition to being an Academy Ambassador, Mary is also a member of the Class of 2025 leadership team, the Jaguar Beat, Global Scholars Program, Labre Ministry, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), National Honor Society (NHS) and helps with daily morning announcements.
What is your favorite part about being a member of the Saint Joseph Academy community?: Mary shared the following: “My favorite part about being a member of the Saint Joseph Academy community is the confidence that I have gained as a result of the uplifting words from teachers, constant encouragement from friends, and the rewarding academics. It's rare to find a place where a student is challenged both in the classroom and in their minds and hearts. SJA has continued to offer up opportunities to immerse myself in the world, all while allowing me to be my truest self.”
Future Career Interests: Mary plans to study Political Journalism at the University of Maryland in the fall.
